CRBI is a 501c3 grassroots environmental organization based in Rome, Georgia with the mission to protect, preserve, and restore one of North America’s most biologically diverse river systems – the upper Coosa River basin.

CRBI has attracted over a million dollars towards the revitalization of critical habitat for endangered species. We work with partners across the river basin to in our restoration efforts.

Water Monitoring

CRBI monitors thousands of square miles of watershed to protect your right to clean water. In the summer, we publish E.Coli bacteria levels at popular swim sites through Swim Guide.

In the classroom and on the water, we educate our community about the wildlife, history, and current issues of our watershed. In 2025 we will host our first annual SSWIM Youth Symposium.
