Are you interested in creating innovative environmental science projects, finding solutions to watershed challenges, getting hands-on experience and learning about careers in natural resources – all while competing for thousands of dollars in grants for your school’s STEM program?

SSWIM blends creativity, innovation, and collaboration through project-based learning.
Each year, student groups from middle and high schools across our watershed region work with professional mentors from the conservation sciences to develop innovative projects focused on advancing sustainable development practices in watershed management.
From the fall through spring, students design and implement their projects, collecting data that they present at the Youth Symposium at Berry College in the spring.
Through their projects and presentations students sharpen critical thinking, build practical skills, and gain valuable experience – all while making a positive impact on their communities.
